Quit Nicotine.
Nicotine, a common ingredient in cigarettes, is the primary reason why people develop an addiction to smoking. Consequently, due to its addictive nature, it also causes ailments and diseases that can result to an early death among smokers and harm the people around them as well.
In relation to this, there are a number of ways to quit nicotine. One of which is done through a set of natural techniques. Most people claim that these methods are safer than taking medications during the cessation process as these techniques do not cause any chemical reaction in the body. One common example is the cold turkey method. This involves an abrupt and complete quitting of the habit. In this process, a person does very little preparation and forethought. The only thing he will prepare for is to set a quitting date for himself. When that day arrives, he will refrain from smoking, carry on with his daily activities, and try to maintain his abstinence permanently. This process is generally effective, however, it makes a person susceptible to discomforts brought about by nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
Moving on, another way to quit nicotine is through the use of commercial products. These so-called stop smoking treatments can either be purchased from drugstores or acquired by prescription. Quite recently, some of the brands of treatments have been made available online. Basically, products such as antidepressant drugs and medicated patches help a person quit nicotine by causing chemical reactions in the body to eliminate the discomforts he would experience while refraining from smoking. However, although these products quickly alleviate the symptoms of the cessation process, some of them may have side effects that may occur during or after the medication. |
