Nicotine addictions can be caused by several factors. The first of which concerns the environment of a person. If he is constantly exposed to many smokers and a lot of available resources of cigarettes, he may be at risk of picking up the habit and subsequently becoming addicted to nicotine. Another cause of nicotine addiction is the lack of awareness and information among smokers. It is a sad fact that due to their lack of knowledge about the dangers of smoking, many people continue using cigarettes, thus resulting to their dependency to the said substance. Aside from this, nicotine addictions can result from other habits. Oftentimes, alcohol consumption is coupled with cigarette use, hence, those who drink beer or wine usually develop smoking habits too.
Moving on, although nicotine addictions are triggered by different factors, they have common effects. First, a nicotine addict will lose his social life. He will become more reclusive and neglect his occupation or education, thinking that such aspects are secondary to his habit. Moreover, he may acquire a bad reputation from the ones around him. Therefore, prolonging his dependency without any form of help makes him susceptible to such ailments, which can ultimately kill him. |
